On October 7, 2026, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) required the City of Troup public water system 2120003 to issue a boil water notice to customers West of Beulah Street on West Duval Street, CR 2138, CR 2144, Alley Road, County Line Road, the Westwood subdivision, and the Oakcrest subdivision. The notice was required because of a line break and conditions that recently occurred in the water system, and customers were told to boil their water before using it for drinking water or other human consumption purposes.
The City of Troup has completed the required corrective actions and has provided TCEQ with laboratory results showing that the water no longer requires boiling prior to use as of October 9, 2026. The water is safe for drinking water and human consumption purposes.
The boil water notice issued on October 7, 2026, is rescinded. Customers who were affected may resume normal use of their water.
