City of Troup Elections are held the first Saturday in May each year. In 2022 the date will be Saturday, May 7, 2022. Both the election and early voting are conducted at the Cameron-J.Jarvis Troup Municipal Library located at 102 South Georgia, Troup, Texas 75789.

The positions to be elected in 2022 are Mayor and City Council Positions Place 2 and Place 5. The first day to file for a position is Wednesday, January 19, 2022. The last day to file for a position is Friday, February 18, 2022.

The Qualifications for Mayor are:

Residence -- 1 year in state prior to the filing
deadline; 1 year in city prior to election day
Age -- 18
Must be a registered voter in territory elected from by the filing deadline

Residence -- 1 year in state prior to filing deadline; 6 months in the city (or ward) prior to filing deadline
Age -- 18
